wpe4.jpg (4719 bytes)America faces tragedy... but what are we as Christians and Saints to make of all this, and what should be our reaction?

I was in shock like every American citizen as the horrifying events unfolded on the morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001. I don't pretend to have all the answers, nor do I wish to make any statements about possible resolutions to the delima facing us. I would, however, like to remind the Saints of a few thing.wpe7.jpg (5197 bytes)

Although our nation was attacked, we must remember that we are more than just Americans. We are citizens of a Kingdom which is NOT shaken. As believers, we should be partakers of God's peace that "surpasses all understanding." How we react to this situation will be a witness to those around us, which will speak volumes about our convictions.

Remember, we are not to be ruled by our emotions (the flesh) but our fears and anger are to be subjected to the Spirit in all things. As we contemplate the actions of these terrorists, as well as the actions which may be taken by our government in retaliation, I would have us examine some scriptures which can be especially challenging in the face of such a time as this. Meditate upon these as you find yourself involved in conversations about these events at work or various social functions. Go to the Lord in prayer regarding your concerns, so that He may instruct you, and so that you will gain a Godly perspective, and give a proper response to everyone you come in contact with.

[Mat 5:46] But I say unto you, love your enemies; bless them that curse you; do good to them that hate you; and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you;

[John 16:33] These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

[Rom 12:19] Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
