TAPESTRY REVELATION GIVEN

TO THE GRAIN VALLEY RLDS CONGREGATION

THROUGH ELDER KEN SCHMIDT September 7, 2003

Thus saith the Lord to my children at Grain Valley:

In recent months I have led the men of my priesthood to speak in My name, to give to you My words and to prepare the way for My work.

At the same time, I have awakened in many of you yearnings for service.  Some of you have been surprised at the directions in which I have guided you, You have wondered how what you were sensing from me fit into the purpose and direction of this congregation.

My counsel to you this morning is-

It is time for you to begin to move—prayerfully, but definitely--in those directions that you have sensed My Spirit leading.

I have brought my servant, Ron Brooks, into your midst and have made him your pastor, to guide and direct this work. Some of you will have to change your ideas of the purpose of the office of pastor and of the function of priesthood. It will not be for him to bear the burden of formulating and directing every jot and tittle of a program, and then to somehow encourage you to follow it.  It will be his burden to gently guide and direct and help: to use the gifts and the intellect that I have given him to direct the work of God, rather than impose it- to be the shepherd, not the king. That does not lessen the importance nor the authority of his calling, for in many ways his challenge will be greater; but I will use his gifts and abilities where they are best used, to lead the body of Christ.

The challenge to you, My people, will be two-fold.  First, to move as I lead, to respond without fear to the direction of My Spirit, to do that which I am prompting your hearts to do. But, you will also need to listen to the direction of those of spiritual authority in the congregation, that all things might be done decently and in order; that there be no confusion nor schism in the body of Christ.

You must not expect all to share in that which is yours, uniquely, to do. Some will sense the same direction that you sense and you will work with them, but not all are called to your place. At the same time, you will need to be sensitive to that which I have called others to do, so that the members of My Body work together toward one end.

But, if you listen and will be directed,

I will create here a tapestry of My own weaving—

marvelous in its intricacy,

breathtaking in its beauty,

and powerful in its effect on the lives of the children of men.

And, I will not work just here, at this place, but I will work in many places to create other tapestries; and I will make a mural that the world cannot ignore.

For My Words will not come back to Me void--for I have spoken it.

Even so, Amen.
